SACRAMENT DATES

Sacramental Programs for First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation are at least two year programs. Any child wishing to receive these sacraments must be enrolled in a Catholic School or in a Religious Education (RE) Parish Program for two consecutive years of preparation. Adequate time for formation must be given before reception of any sacrament. This preparation time allows the child and parent to become more fully aware of the significance of the sacrament. The parents of the child must be active in the faith and regular attendance of Sunday Liturgy is necessary for both students and parents.

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated six times a year at the regular weekend Masses.  Watch the bulletin for upcoming dates.  The parents and Godparents must attend two nights of preparation classes before the baptism.  Contact the Parish Office at (270) 692-3019 to register for classes.

The Sacrament of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion is traditionally given in the second year of religious formation around age seven.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is received in the ninth grade or beyond, when the student demonstrates knowledge and commitment to the faith.

The Sacrament of Marriage is an important decision.  Couples must contact a priest at least six months before they plan to be married.  The couple will receive instruction from the priest, take the FOCCUS instrument, and must attend the Foundations of Marriage Program in preparation for marriage.

For further information or registration, please contact the Parish Pastoral Associate at (270) 692-9009.
